GUAVO SPONSOR MESSAGE:

Former World ITF TaeKwon-Do champion, Lisa Dennis (40) has literally ‘smashed’ a new World Record crushing 1000 clay roof tiles with her bare hands in just 83.98 seconds!

Lisa, from Croydon, smashed the target of 90 seconds, to set the brand new new World Record and she now joins her fiance, Chris Pitman, who has previously achieved the male title of the same record in August 2013.

So they can now officially call themselves ‘The World’s most BADDASS Couple’ – now that’s a title many would love!

The tiles were arranged in 100 piles of ten and Lisa broke around 16 per SECOND.

Lisa had previously attempted the same record last August, alongside her fiancé Chris Pitman, who was vying for the male title. Chris was successful – smashing the existing record by three seconds, breaking 1000 tiles in 51.08 seconds. Lisa narrowly missed out but wasn’t going to let this disappointment put her off.

Lisa said:

“This was not an easy record to break, as I discovered during last year. I have trained so hard and this truly is the biggest achievement in my career – despite achieving several TaeKwon-Do World and European titles through my career. When Chris gained his World Record last August and I missed out, I was absolutely devastated. But I didn’t give up and really have shown true ‘Indomitable Spirit – which is a key tennent of TaeKwon-Do. I hope I have inspired my TaeKwon-Do students and shown them that it’s important to never give up on a dream!”

Lisa has had quite a martial arts career… having taken the European TaeKwon-Do title seven times, became World Champion in New Zealand in 2011 and won yet another gold medal in 2012 at the Brighton World Cup. She has now retired from International competition and is delighted to add a World Record to her set of incredible achievements.

Lisa and Chris run the Borough’s premier TaeKwon-Do Club, Virtue Taekwondo. They hold classes for all ages, from three to adult, for all levels in locations throughout Bromley including Petts Wood, Farnborough, Orpington and Beckenham.

Lisa also mentioned after her grueling world record attempt on the day that now she has achieved her record, she will also now get ready to marry her fiancé Chris – making them the soon to be official TOUGHEST, MOST BADDASS MARRIED COUPLE IN THE UK… if not the world!

We gotta bow down to that so… Lisa + Chris, a respectful “Ooooossh!” from Guavo land, and thank you for inspiring those around you and ourselves with that strong martial spirit! We expect an invitation to the wedding too now… HINT HINT!
